White Oak Orchard Shipping Calendar

White Oak Orchard Shipping Calendar

We ship our bare root seedlings only during dormancy to ensure the highest survival rate. Shipping times vary by USDA Plant Hardiness Zone to match safe planting windows. Click here to find your planting zone.

Zone 8 (Our Location – South Carolina & Deep South)

·         Shipping Window: Late October – Early December

·         Reason: Trees go dormant by late October, and mild winters allow root growth.

·         Best for: Fall planting with long root-establishment period.

Zone 7 (Upper South, Mid-Atlantic)

·         Shipping Window: November – Early December, OR March (if requested)

·         Reason: Dormancy arrives later than northern zones. Fall planting is excellent, but spring is an option if winter freezes are a concern.

Zone 6 (Midwest, Upper South, parts of Northeast)

·         Shipping Window: November, OR March–April

·         Reason: Fall planting is possible but riskier in colder winters. Many customers prefer early spring shipping after frost danger passes.

Zone 5 (Northern Midwest & Northeast)

·         Shipping Window: Late March – April

·         Reason: Fall planting is not recommended; harsh winters can heave young trees out of the ground. Shipping waits until soils are workable in spring.

Zones 3–4 (Far North & Upper Midwest)

·         Shipping Window: April – Early May

·         Reason: Short growing seasons and long winters. We only ship in spring to ensure survival.

States We Do Not Ship To

• California – Due to agricultural restrictions.

Customer Planting Notes

• Trees must be planted immediately upon arrival.

• Use our planting guide to prepare soil, handle roots properly, and protect with tree tubes (TreePro or similar).
